Bio

Despite being immersed in drone racing from 2018, Ames is a relative newcomer to putting on the headset herself. But inspiration struck when alongside her drone racer father, she went to The World Games in 2022 (in the USA) to work: building, organising and even checking the racers' equipment. "Utterly impressed is an understatement!" she says, and since then it has been her dream to become the next fastest female pilot in America. Which she achieved!

So The World Games 2025 feels like a "full circle moment" for this single-minded racer, who is motivated to be the best: "I want to fly faster than the women and the men."

One of the best things about the sport is the community, and one of Ames's highlights so far has been travelling to China for the FAI World Drone Racing Championships, and meet the friends she'd made online in real life.

To inspire others, Ames says, "I would like to let people know that they can do anything they put their mind to. Don't let anyone underestimate what you can do when you put your mind to it."

Other activities

Outside of drone racing, Ames is a dedicated student and works part time in daycare and babysitting, also doing drone photography for real estate. Aside from drone racing she also plays golf, video games, and enjoys spending time with friends.
